It would be organised through a partnership between the Ministry of Finance, State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), and the Institute of Directors Ghana (IoD).

The event, which will be held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, would be on the theme: “Boardroom Governance, accountability, and long-term sustainable development: The inextricable links.”

More than 700 high-profile executives of organisations are expected to participate in the summit, which would be held concurrently in-person and online.

Professor Douglas Boateng, Convenor, stated that as businesses and organisations faced increasing pressure to adopt sustainable best practices, this event will offer a platform for thought leaders to share insights and strategies that link governance excellence with industrial competitiveness and long-term socio-economic development.

He noted that  effective boardroom governance practices and accountability were essential for building resilient and sustainable organisations and economies.

Prof Boateng expressed optimism about the summit  serving as a platform for collective efforts for a stronger, more resilient organisations and nations.

Industry experts scheduled to speak include: the Acting Director General of SIGA,  the President of the Institute of Directors- Ghana,  Executive Chairman of the McDan Group, the President of the Ghana Bar Association, the Managing Director of Asante Gold Corporation,  and the Dean of the UPSA Law School.

These uniquely curated individuals would participate in panel sessions to provide a window into the realm of sustained socio-economic development, with accountability at the core, said Prof Boateng.

“By bringing together experts and industry leaders, we aim to facilitate meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange that would empower participants to contribute significantly to sustained development,” he stated.
