Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, Paramount Chief of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, has established a GHC500,000 educational endowment fund to support brilliant but financially challenged students within the traditional area. The “Ogyeahoho Education Fund” aims to help deserving students gain access to quality education and contribute to the community’s overall development.

In addition, he provided GHC200,000 and 20 desktop computers to support the construction of a modern ICT laboratory for students in the area.

Speaking at the 2025 Elluo Festival durbar in Bibiani, Ogyeahoho Gyebi II—who also serves as President of the National House of Chiefs—said the initiative would ease the financial burden on parents struggling to fund their children’s tertiary education. The festival, themed “Our Heritage, Our People, Our Development,” highlighted the importance of preserving the area’s cultural identity.

Dr. Daniel McKorley, CEO of McDan Group and Special Guest of Honour, commended the chief for promoting the area’s rich cultural heritage. He encouraged young people to harness local natural resources for economic empowerment and pledged GHC2 million in interest-free loans to women, along with scholarships for 10 brilliant but needy students.

Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, Paramount Chief of Nsein Traditional Area and chairman of the event, called for stronger collaboration between chiefs and government to combat illegal mining.

The Elluo Festival showcased traditional drumming and dancing and was attended by government officials, Members of Parliament, and several traditional leaders from the Western North Region.
