The competition was organised as part of activities marking this year’s Constitution Week to broaden students’ knowledge and understanding of the 1992 Constitution. Quiz questions focused on key areas such as fundamental human rights, the roles of the arms of government, and current affairs.

According to Madam Edith Akpene Awudor, Ga West Municipal Director of the NCCE, the initiative not only sharpened students’ knowledge of the Constitution but also encouraged teamwork, healthy competition, and civic responsibility.

She explained that civic education helps instill patriotism, strengthen national values, and promote active citizenship among the youth.

Mr. Elorm Avemegah, Assembly Member for the Sarpaiman-Opah Electoral Area, praised the NCCE for giving young people the chance to better appreciate their constitutional rights and duties.

He encouraged the students to take the lessons seriously to avoid unlawful behaviour, and further urged the Commission to extend civic education to the wider community, including illiterate residents, to foster greater constitutional awareness.
