The Ghanaian music scene is brimming with excitement as songstress Gyakie gears up to release her much-anticipated debut album, “AFTER MIDNIGHT”. Yesterday, a private media listening session was held in Accra, giving select journalists, influencers, and industry insiders an exclusive first listen to the project.

The atmosphere was intimate yet electric, with attendees treated to a curated track-by-track playback of the album. Spanning 17 tracks, “AFTER MIDNIGHT” showcases Gyakie’s signature silky vocals and her ability to seamlessly blend Afro-fusion, R&B, and highlife. Each song delivers its own vibe, ranging from soulful ballads to upbeat dance tracks, creating a rich and versatile body of work.

One of the standout revelations from the session was Gyakie’s headline collaboration with Shatta Wale, which quickly became a topic of conversation among guests. The track “Hamathan”, packed with energy and charisma, merges Gyakie’s smooth delivery with Shatta’s bold, commanding presence — a perfect example of the album’s dynamic range.

Speaking to the press after the listening, Gyakie shared:

“This album is my heart, my stories, and my growth over the years. I wanted to create something timeless that listeners can keep coming back to. I’m so grateful for everyone who came to experience it early.”

“AFTER MIDNIGHT” is set for release on August 29 and will be available on all major digital streaming platforms (DSPs). With its genre-blending production, star-studded collaborations, and Gyakie’s undeniable artistry, the project is already being tipped as one of the most significant Ghanaian music releases of the year.

Fans can expect an emotional yet uplifting journey through themes of love, resilience, and self-discovery, all delivered with the warmth and elegance Gyakie has become known for.

Mark your calendars — AFTER MIDNIGHT drops August 29.
