Prudential Bank has donated GHS 20,000 to the Ghana Prisons Service in support of its newly launched “Think Prisons 360” Initiative, aimed at reshaping public perceptions and strengthening rehabilitation efforts.

The donation was presented during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the bank to the Prisons Service headquarters in Accra.

Speaking at the presentation, Head of Personal Banking at Prudential Bank, Charles Ofori, said the bank was pleased to support an initiative focused on social transformation, particularly in the areas of rehabilitation and reintegration.

He noted that the project aligns with the bank’s corporate social responsibility priorities, especially in promoting social empowerment, education and national development. He also commended the Prisons Service for its innovative approach to changing public perceptions about prisons and inmates.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Service, Deputy Director-General Francis Omane Addo expressed appreciation for the support, stating that it would enhance public engagement and strengthen rehabilitation programmes.

He explained that a key component of the initiative is the establishment of the Ghana Prisons Service Television Station, which will serve as a platform to highlight reforms, showcase inmate rehabilitation and vocational training programmes, and support staff development.

According to him, the initiative is expected to transform public understanding of the Service by shedding light on its role in preparing inmates for successful reintegration into society, while also promoting awareness around crime prevention and reintegration challenges.
