Ghanaian rap sensation Quamina MP recently touched down in New York City and delivered a fiery, no-beats freestyle for the popular street series Chinatown Sound. The full video, uploaded on March 27, 2026, captures the energy of Ghanaian talent taking the international stage in one of hip-hop’s most iconic neighborhoods.
In the roughly one-minute clip, Quamina MP stands outdoors in front of a restaurant, spitting bars that blend reflection, motivation, and street wisdom. Without a beat to lean on, his delivery stays sharp and confident.

Key lines from the freestyle include:

    • “So I pray for wisdom. Most times we win. Sometimes we lose some.”
    • “I have a dream. I want to do something.”
    • “Good name is better than riches. But sometimes riches is better than a good name.”
    • “Hallelujah. I swear to God we never go back down.”
The performance mixes English with his signature flow, showcasing the raw authenticity that has made him a favorite in Ghana’s hip-hop and hiplife scene. Even in a short clip, Quamina MP’s charisma shines through part motivational speaker, part street philosopher.
Born Emmanuel Kwamina Amonoo on September 11, 1993, in Accra (with roots in Mankessim, Central Region), Quamina MP is a versatile artist and record producer. He burst onto the scene around 2017, blending hip-hop, trap, Afrobeat, and hiplife into a sound that resonates with Ghanaian youth.
Known for his energetic freestyles and catchy singles, Quamina MP has collaborated with heavyweights like Stonebwoy and continues to push Ghanaian music beyond borders. His ability to switch between languages and deliver thoughtful lyrics sets him apart in a competitive industry.
    What Is Chinatown Sound?
Chinatown Sound is a raw, street-level freestyle platform created by videographer Gee and rapper Bub Styles. The series features artists performing short, beatless freestyles directly on the streets of New York’s Chinatown — no studio polish, just pure talent and vibe.
The platform has hosted both emerging and established names from the U.S. and now international scenes, giving artists like Quamina MP valuable global exposure. Previous features include American rappers such as Boldy James, Bizarre, and Alkaline, making Quamina MP’s appearance a strong statement for Ghanaian hip-hop.
Moments like this highlight the growing international presence of Ghanaian artists. From Accra to NYC, Quamina MP is proving that homegrown talent can hold its own in any cypher. The freestyle’s themes wisdom over wealth, resilience in the face of setbacks, and chasing dreams resonate universally while staying rooted in the Ghanaian experience.
