The Office of the Registrar of Companies has announced plans to remove 318 companies from Ghana’s official register over regulatory non-compliance.
In a statement issued on May 19, 2026, and signed by Registrar of Companies Maame Samma Peprah, the office disclosed that the affected firms were listed in Volume 40 of the Companies Bulletin published on May 15, 2026.
According to the ORC, the action is being taken under Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992). The office stated that unless the affected companies provide sufficient justification within three months from the publication date, their names will be removed from the register and the companies will be officially dissolved.
The Registrar explained that the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to enforce compliance regulations and maintain the accuracy and integrity of Ghana’s Register of Companies.
The ORC also reiterated its commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and stronger corporate governance standards within the country’s business environment.
The public and affected companies have been encouraged to contact the ORC through its call centre or official social media platforms for further clarification or assistance.
