The African Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, once again proved why he remains untouchable in Ghanaian entertainment. On Sunday night, April 5, 2026, the Shatta Movement boss headlined the final day of the Gomoa Easter Carnival, delivering a high-energy performance that has the entire country talking.

From the moment Shatta stepped on stage, the atmosphere was electric. He dished out hit after hit, paused the music to pray with fans, dropped words of encouragement, and even gifted cash and phones to lucky supporters in the crowd. But the moment that sent social media into overdrive was when the “Sm4Life” general stopped everything to lead thousands in loud “Free Abu Trica” chants
Shatta Wale didn’t just chant the slogan — he fully backed the campaign. He brought Abu Trica’s wife and other supporters on stage, turning the carnival into a powerful solidarity moment. The entire venue erupted as fans joined in the plea directed at President Mahama to intervene before Abu Trica’s possible extradition to the United States.
Clips of the intense chants have since flooded TikTok, Instagram, Twitter (X), and Facebook, with many praising Shatta for using his massive platform to speak on street issues. Some fans hailed him as a true “people’s champion,” while others debated whether artists should mix entertainment with activism.
In one powerful line that is already making rounds, Shatta reportedly linked the situation to broader youth struggles: “If there were jobs, the youth would not be scamming.”
The Gomoa Easter Carnival, organised by Minister A-Plus (MP for Gomoa Central), brought fashion, music, and massive crowds together. Shatta Wale’s marathon set closed the event on a high, reminding everyone why he’s called the King of the Streets.
This performance comes at a time when Shatta has been extremely active in 2026  dropping multiple songs, earning international nominations, and keeping the Shatta Movement stronger than ever.
    Why Shatta Wale Keeps Trending
    • Massive Fanbase: The Shatta Movement is one of the most loyal and vocal in Africa.
    • Bold Personality: He never shies away from speaking his mind.
    • Stage Presence: Every performance feels like an event.
    • Connection with the Streets: Moments like the “Free Abu Trica” chant show he’s still deeply rooted with the people.
Whether you agree with the chant or not, one thing is clear — when Shatta Wale is on stage, Ghana stops to watch.
