The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with two separate warehouse robberies that resulted in the theft of fertilizers and food products worth hundreds of thousands of cedis.

According to police investigations, the first incident occurred on May 25, 2026, at a fertilizer warehouse in Kpone. Armed robbers reportedly assaulted a security guard before stealing 751 bags of 50-kilogram organic fertilizer valued at GH¢431,825.

Less than a month later, on June 14, another robbery was carried out at Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse in Tema Community One. The suspects reportedly overpowered security personnel and made away with about 2,000 bags of Aaba Rice and other food items.

Acting on intelligence gathered during investigations, police traced the stolen goods to several warehouses within the Tema area. The operation led to the identification and arrest of six suspects believed to be connected to the crimes.

The suspects, identified as Akala Kudus, Shaibu Dauda, Abdul Rahman Moro, Giya Hudu, Razak Seidu, and Francis Ayinsabga, were apprehended during coordinated police operations conducted on June 16, 2026.

Police recovered a significant portion of the stolen items, including 717 bags of Aaba Rice linked to the Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse robbery and 600 bags of fertilizer stolen from the Kpone warehouse.

The recovered goods have been secured as exhibits as investigations continue.

The suspects remain in police custody and are assisting with investigations. Police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices, recover the remaining stolen items, and ensure all those involved are prosecuted.

The Tema Regional Police Command has also urged businesses and warehouse operators to strengthen their security measures to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
