Stanbic Bank Ghana has organised a Financial Wellness Workshop in Kumasi to equip selected journalists in the Ashanti Region with skills in financial literacy and personal wealth management.

The initiative is part of the bank’s broader effort to promote financial stability and long-term independence among media professionals. Head of Communication and Reputation Management, Derick Romeo Adogla, said the training was aimed at helping journalists better manage their finances while enhancing their professional effectiveness.

Facilitators Nabil Hussayn and James Otchere led sessions covering savings and investment planning, debt and asset management, and practical strategies for achieving financial stability and independence.

Mr Adogla noted that the workshop forms part of a wider programme by the bank to improve financial literacy across various groups, including small businesses, students, and professionals.

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association, Kofi Adu Domfeh, commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. He noted that financially stable journalists are better positioned to uphold ethical standards and resist undue influence.

As part of the programme, the bank also donated five laptops to selected participants to support their work.

Stanbic Bank reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its partnership with the media through capacity-building initiatives that promote long-term professional and economic development.
