He emphasised the importance of empathy and support, particularly for female relatives and friends facing the challenge.
Speaking at a breast cancer awareness programme for the six Garrison of the Ghana Army, Brig. Gen. Tei highlighted the suffering caused by the disease to individuals, families, and communities.
He noted that stigma held negative consequences for cancer survivors, affecting their health outcomes.
Brig. Gen. Tei pointed out that empathy and support for cancer patients was crucial during their treatment journey.
He stated that increased social support helped individuals cope better with the disease, reinforcing the importance of community and family involvement in their recovery.

The event, held under the theme “Screen Early, Live Longer, Join the Fight,” included a health walk, educational talks, and breast screenings.
