Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s, Maxwell Konadu, has urged fans of the club to be patient after the team draw at home to Techiman Eleven Wonders.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko began the new football season with a lot of expectations from supporters of the club after signing 11 new players ahead of the new campaign.

However, the team failed to take all 3 points on match week 1 of the 2020/ 2021 Ghana Premier League season after a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Techiman Eleven Wonders.

The Porcupine Warriors took the lead in the second half through Kwame Poku before Eleven Wonders levelled things up at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This left some fans disappointed and took to social media to pour out their frustrations.

But Maxwell Konadu who took charge of the team in December last year has called for calm from the supporters and says the players will need time to gel after bringing in new faces.

“In the first game of the season, gelling together is not easy. We need time,” Konadu told the media after the game.

“Unfortunately, at Kotoko, I know we don’t have time. So I hope in the coming games, we will play much better than we did. “I urge the supporters to keep calm. We will play much better than we saw today.

“We also have a couple of injuries in camp that’s why we couldn’t bring onboard everybody, so we are managing the situation,” he concluded.

Midfielder Salifu Mudasiru is currently out injured while right back Christopher Nettey is away in Sudan with the Ghana national for AFCON 2021 qualifiers.

Kotoko travel to Berekum to face Chelsea on match day 2.
