Officials from the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated agencies are set to visit Tema Port this week to inspect the arrival of 100 buses imported from Egypt.
The delegation is expected to include Transport Minister Joseph Nikpe Bukari, his deputy Dorcas Affo-Toffey, Managing Director of Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMTL) Kale Cesar Esq., his deputy Haroun Apaw-Wiredu, as well as other officials from the Ministry and MMTL.
The inspection follows a recent announcement by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, confirming the arrival of the buses as part of efforts to address ongoing public transport challenges.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, March 5, he indicated that the government had started receiving the buses under a broader initiative to expand transport capacity and ease the burden on commuters.
He added that the 100 buses form part of a larger procurement of 300 vehicles aimed at strengthening the public transportation system and improving mobility across the country.
