The United States Virgin Islands (USVI) Government has announced plans to open a new economic and business corridor between the USVI and the African continent through the launch of the USVI Africa Mini Summit.

The initiative is aimed at creating new opportunities for trade, investment, cultural exchange, and economic growth between the two regions. According to organisers, the summit will serve as an important platform to educate residents and businesses in the USVI about the benefits of engaging with African markets and how they can actively participate in this emerging partnership.

Officials say the summit will provide valuable information on business opportunities, investment prospects, and collaboration frameworks that will allow entrepreneurs, investors, and institutions in the USVI to connect with counterparts across Africa.

“The USVI Africa Mini Summit is about creating a new lane for business, exchange, and growth between the African continent and the US Virgin Islands,” organisers noted. “It will help residents understand how they can be part of this new economic pathway, both for their own benefit and for the development of the territory.”

The government believes the initiative will not only strengthen economic ties but also promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges, while positioning the USVI as a strategic hub for Africa-Caribbean and Africa-US business relations.

The summit is expected to attract business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and members of the diaspora community who are interested in exploring new markets and building long-term partnerships between Africa and the USVI.
