Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP has urged the people of Obuasi to vote massively for the NPP in the upcoming December elections.

“You should not vote against the NPP if you have Obuasi at Heart”, Dr Prempeh told the people at a campaign rally at Obuasi.

He said the NPP government led by President Akufo Addo, had done a lot for the people of Obuasi.

He cited the rebirth of AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine, the opening of KNUST Obuasi campus, the rehabilitation of Obuasi roads, as well as the construction of Agenda 111 hospital in Obuasi East and the construction of the Accident and Trauma hospital, as some of the key interventions by the NPP government that had helped developed and improve the living conditions of the people in the area, in the last seven years.

“You will agree with me that when we came to power, Obuasi was almost a ghost town, AGA had collapsed, your roads were in deplorable state and the economy of Obuasi was down but through the intervention of the government, Obuasi is back on its feet”, he stated.

He said the NPP government had always prioritized the development of Obuasi and there was the need for the people to reciprocate this by voting massively for the party to continue to implement initiatives that would help speed up the development and transformation of the Obuasi enclave.

Dr Prempeh, as part of the campaign tour in the area, visited chiefs, Muslim leaders, the clergy and other opinion leaders in the Obuasi East district before climaxing it with a rally at the Obuasi central market.

He said the NPP was the best government to transform the country since it had the track record of implementing innovative strategies which were helping in the transformation process.

“Since we assumed power, we have made sure that we all lived in harmony and unity despite our religious, tribal and political differences.

It is only NPP that has a good track record of ensuring peaceful co-existence”.

Dr Prempeh urged the people to have confidence in Dr Bawumia, who would lead the implementation of pragmatic vision and initiatives to help transform the country.

Mr Kwaku Kwarteng, the MP for Obuasi West and Dr Patrick Boakye Yiadom, MP for Obuasi East, stressed the need for the people to continue to support the NPP by voting to maintain it in power to continue the transformation agenda of the country.
