Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has announced that the 8,000 newly recruited health workers are expected to commence work by July, as final placement and administrative processes are being completed.
He explained that government is working to ensure a smooth transition for the recruits into the health system and expressed confidence that all outstanding arrangements will be finalized within the month.
According to him, while a specific start date cannot yet be confirmed, the target is for all recruits to begin work by July.
To support the process, the Ministry plans to publish the full list of recruited personnel, along with details of their interview locations. This, he said, is intended to improve transparency and address concerns about postings and interview arrangements.
He added that once candidates successfully complete the required procedures, they will be formally absorbed into the health system.
The Minister also noted that special attention is being given to rural and underserved communities, where staffing shortages continue to affect healthcare delivery. The deployment, he said, is part of broader efforts to strengthen Ghana’s health system and improve access to care nationwide.
