Police intelligence revealed a plan by the group to rob a businessman at a bank at Opeibea in Accra.

A team of police and intelligence officers from the Accra Region laid ambush in the area in an attempt to arrest the suspects.

However, on seeing the police, one of the suspects, a Cameroonian national, Akika Christian-Robert, armed with a Taurus Pistol, shot at the police.

In the ensuing gun battle, all three suspects were shot and pronounced dead on arrival at the police hospital.

The dead suspects have been linked to other robberies and murders in Accra and Kumasi over the last year.

According to police sources, the suspects are responsible for the killing and robbing of one Ali Adam on December 21, 2020.

The gang has also been linked to the robbery of a Forex Bureau agent around the National theatre last December.
