    Earth tremor shakes Accra and other areas

    In the late hours of Wednesday, 24th June, 2020, Ghana’s capital town, Greater Accra and its surrounding areas experienced an earth tremor that occurred thrice within ten minutes.

    This activity  interrupted the sleep of majority of Ghanaians in the affected areas and left them in fear.

    Mr Nicholas Opoku, a Seismologist at the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA) has described the incident as a minor earthquake  and it measured a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale.

    However, Data from the USGS (United States Geological Survey) had indicated that the earthquake was recorded at a magnitude of 4.0.
