Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darko, Head of Civil Service, has underscored the need for customer satisfaction in delivering quality services, highlighting its positive impact on the economy and national development.

He noted that improved client service delivery at the Ministry of Energy reflects the government’s commitment, underscoring the importance of maintaining a relationship with clients based on mutual respect and satisfaction.

Dr. Aggrey-Darko made these comments during the Client Service Focus Week celebration organized by the Ministry of Energy, themed “Above and Beyond.”

The week-long event aimed to commemorate Global Client Service Week by showcasing the energy sector’s achievements over the years while providing a platform to engage key stakeholders and promote quality service delivery.

The Event also offered an opportunity to reflect on the critical role that client service plays in ensuring efficient governance, service delivery, and overall national development.

Dr. Aggrey-Darko noted that customer satisfaction was important because of its impact, noting that in the global economy, with ever-demanding and sophisticated services, customer happiness has become a necessity rather than an option.

“Studies show that 90 per cent of customers say they will leave a company after just one more experience. On the flip side, 86 per cent of customers are willing to pay more for better services and people are willing to pay more for better services.

“When you are satisfying or addressing the needs of clients, please, you are not doing that person a favour. That person is very important and that is the core of our mandate. We are to serve the public through the formulation and implementation of government policies and programmes for national development,” he said.

Dr. Aggrey-Darko noted that the Ministry of Energy represented the government and contributed to national development, encouraging staff to strive for excellence and foster mutual respect and customer satisfaction.

Mr. Herbert Krapah, Minister of Energy, expressed his satisfaction with the Ministry’s commitment to the Client Service Focus Week celebration, highlighting how it showcased the Ministry and its agencies’ contributions to the economy and the country.

He said that the Ministry played a central and crucial role in the economy, particularly in the energy sector.

“We, as a Ministry and an energy sector, cannot go to sleep for one minute without understanding the impact that we have on the Ghanaian people, on our customers, and on the entire economy,” he said.
