Polls opened across polling stations in all the 31 constituencies in the Northern, North East and Savannah Region.
While voting started at 0700 hours at some polling stations, others started a few minutes later due to either late arrival of election materials or some issues with equipment, which were resolved.
There were long queues at some of the polling stations with some voters arriving at the polling stations at about 0400 hours to complete the process on time and move to other activities.
There were agents of political parties, especially NPP and NDC at all the polling stations while security officers were present at all polling stations.
Most police barriers and check points have been closed to allow police personnel to provide needed security at the Polls.
