The Ashanti Regional NDC on Thursday January 16, 2025, began the screening and evaluation of candidates aspiring to be appointed as Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) for the various districts in the Ashanti region.

A total of 343 individuals have applied to be considered for the positions in the 43 Metropolitan, Municipal and District assemblies in the region.

The vetting exercise is part of efforts by the party to select individuals with credible leadership qualities and strategic vision to lead their districts to improve the living conditions of the people.

It is also part of the new government’s pledge to uphold efficiency, commitment, and forward-thinking leadership at the local governance level.

The three-day interview process, according to the regional leadership of the party, is significant and a pivotal stage in identifying capable leaders who could effectively execute the party’s developmental agenda at the grassroots level.

Applicants are expected to showcase a profound comprehension of the socio-economic intricacies within their respective areas and put forth pragmatic strategies to tackle issues such as unemployment, infrastructure development, sanitation, and the enhancement of education and healthcare accessibility.
