The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) Kutunse District in the Ga Presbytery on Sunday inducted into office Reverend Dr Chris Baah Nartey as its new district minister.

The induction service coincided with the climaxing of the church’s national annual Children’s Week celebration on the theme, ‘Celebrating our Heritage, Persisting in Mission, Let the Children Come to Me.”

Rev Dr. Nartey, who holds a PhD in New Testament Studies from the Trinity Theological Seminary, Accra, served in different capacities and congregations of the church and is the immediate past Odumase District Minister and minister-in-charge of the Zimmermann congregation, Odumase-Krobo.

He paid glorious tribute to Very Rev. Prof. Martey, a former moderator of the church, for facilitating his candidature by the church for further pastoral training, which culminated in his commissioning and ordination as a Presbyterian minister.

Touching on his plans for the district and the Trinity Congregation where he would pastor, he said he would work hard to double the current membership of the church as he did at his previous posts.

He added that he will lead the church to start a private basic school and build a multi-purpose structure that would contain classrooms, a children/youth worship centre, offices, and a residence, in addition to supporting at least up to five students each year with educational scholarships.

He called for the support of the church leadership and the congregants to bring his plans to reality. Inducting the new District Minister, Rev. Col. Adoteye-Asare, Chairman of the PCG Ga Presbytery, charged him to help the congregants in their spiritual growth by telling them what God says instead of his opinion.

He also praised the members of the Kutunse district for working hard to impressively increase the number of congregations and preaching points in the area to 13. Rev. Col. Adoteye-Asare, delivering the sermon, urged parents not to shirk their responsibilities, reminding them that proper nurturing of children was a heavy responsibility.

He stressed that “Jesus treasures children; as parents, you will account for your stewardship,’ he noted.
