MTN Ghana has launched Y’ello Ladies Network, an all-female employee network group, aimed at fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace.

Mrs Antoinette Kwofie, Chief Finance Officer of MTN Ghana, emphasised the company’s commitment to gender diversity, empowerment, and leadership development for women.

In her address, Mrs Kwofie highlighted the increasing prominence of women in leadership, citing Namibia’s historic appointment of a female president, vice president, and speaker of parliament.

She also acknowledged Ghana’s first female vice president, reinforcing the message that progress, although gradual, was being made.

“We’ve always heard about glass ceilings, but thankfully, glass is a material that can be cracked and even broken. The Y’ello Ladies Network is our way of ensuring that women in MTN have the support, mentorship, and resources to thrive in their careers,” she stated.

Mrs Kwofie encouraged all MTN Ghana women to take an active role in shaping the future of the Y’ello Ladies Network.

She urged them to join steering and planning committees, participate in mentoring circles, and engage in events that would enhance their personal and professional development.

“We will learn, we will grow, we will celebrate our individual journeys, and we will have fun while doing it. It’s our time, and we will live our best lives yet!” she added.

The program’s four main pillars—career development, mentorship, leadership empowerment, and personal growth—formed its foundation.

Through a variety of programs, such as coaching, skill-building exercises, and candid conversations, the network would also offer a robust support structure to assist women in overcoming obstacles at work.

Through focused initiatives like Women in Technology, PACE Women-in-Tech, and the Rising Leaders campaign, MTN Ghana has long promoted diversity and inclusion. By creating a more equal atmosphere, offering networking opportunities, and encouraging professional growth, the Y’ello Ladies Network seeks to close the gender gap.
