Popular Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has reportedly died at the age of 40, with news of his passing sparking widespread reactions across the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Reports of his death surfaced on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, after several colleagues and close associates shared emotional tributes on social media mourning the actor. Funke Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo and Godwin Nnadiekwe were among those who publicly reacted to the news.
In a heartfelt Instagram message, Akindele expressed sadness over his passing, recalling attempts to reconnect with him before his death and reflecting on the moments they shared together.
Ninalowo also paid tribute from the United States, praying for strength and healing for Ekubo’s family and loved ones, while Nnadiekwe described the development as deeply painful and difficult to accept.
