Officials of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund have held discussions with the leadership of Media General, led by Group Chief Executive Officer Beatrice Agyemang, to explore potential collaboration aimed at improving public awareness of healthcare support services in Ghana.

The meeting took place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Media General’s offices in Accra and focused on strengthening partnerships that can help connect patients to specialised medical care within the country.

According to the Trust Fund team, its objectives align closely with Media General’s public interest and health-focused programming, particularly given the growing number of health-related cases and assistance requests handled annually.

They explained that the initiative is designed to support Ghanaians in accessing specialised treatment locally by leveraging existing healthcare infrastructure and medical expertise, rather than relying on treatment abroad.

The discussions also emphasised the role of the media in bridging the gap between patients, healthcare providers and available support systems, ensuring that more citizens are informed about where to seek assistance.

Management of Media General expressed strong interest in the initiative and acknowledged the importance of raising awareness about non-communicable diseases and improving access to specialised healthcare services.

The company subsequently requested that the Ghana Medical Trust Fund submit a formal partnership proposal detailing specific areas of collaboration for further internal review.

Once received, the proposal will be assessed by Media General’s management, after which feedback will be provided on possible partnership opportunities and support mechanisms.
