    Former President Jerry John Rawlings is dead

    The former president of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings is said to have passed away.

    It is reported that he died in the early hours of Thursday morning.

    Sources have confirmed that Rawlings died from coronavirus after being admitted at the Korle Bu Hospital over a week ago.

    Jerry John Rawlings was born on June 22, 1947.

    He was a former military leader and subsequent politician who ruled Ghana on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)  from 1981 to 2001 and also a brief period in 1979.
