The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seven officers from the Tema Regional Police Command in recognition of their outstanding performance during a recent anti-robbery operation in Tema.
The promotions, announced on April 14, 2026, follow the officers’ prompt response to a robbery incident involving a mobile money vendor at Tema Community 5. The operation resulted in the shooting of two suspected robbers and the retrieval of a firearm, ammunition, and other items.
The officers elevated in rank include Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspector Gershon Dekpey, Inspector Prince Asante, Sergeant Lukman Mohammed, Sergeant Eugene Kuudouru, Corporal Jerome Akator, and Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah.
Christian Tetteh Yohuno, alongside members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), praised the officers for their bravery, professionalism, and discipline in executing their duties.
He urged them to view the promotions as both recognition and a responsibility to continue serving with integrity and dedication. He also encouraged all personnel of the Ghana Police Service to remain committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety across the country.
