The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana has called off its nationwide strike after the government requested a two-week window to address its concerns.
At a press briefing on March 17, Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe announced that members have been directed to resume work on March 24, 2026.
He explained that the association’s National Executive Committee agreed to suspend the strike in response to the government’s 14-day appeal, which is aimed at resolving issues related to salary structure and conditions of service.
However, CLOGSAG indicated that it will not engage with the National Labour Commission due to ongoing legal action involving the Commission.
The industrial action, which began on March 9, 2026, was to demand the full implementation of an agreement guaranteeing a separate salary structure for staff within the Civil and Local Government Services.
