Mr. Nicholas Kwame Fato, an agriculturist and community leader, has officially filed his nomination to contest the position of a Council of State representative for the Oti Region.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after filling his nomination at the Nkwanta South office of the Electoral Commission, Mr. Fato said he had earned widespread recognition for his outstanding contributions to farming and rural development.
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nicholas Golden Farms Kitten and a consultant in sustainable agriculture, he has demonstrated innovative leadership and commitment to excellence. He unveiled his ambitious vision for the region, pledging to leverage his extensive expertise and networks to drive development, create jobs, and establish the Oti Region as a hub of innovation and growth.
As a loyal son of the Oti Region, Mr. Fato assured assembly members, grassroots organizations and government appointees of his commitment to aligning the region’s development with the broader vision for traditional authorities. He said his transformative agenda included attracting investments to establish agro-processing factories and other industries aimed at creating sustainable employment opportunities.
He promised to work tirelessly to deliver tangible results, emphasizing his commitment to economic empowerment and infrastructural improvements.
Throughout his career, Mr. Fato held various leadership roles, including local strategic partner and Country Director for Volta Red Farms Litten, General Secretary of the National Farms and Fishman Award Winners Association and Chairman of the Volta Regional Seed Producers Association. Mr. Fato’s dedication to agricultural advancement and community development had been honored with numerous awards, including National Second-Best Farmer in 1998 and Volta Regional Best Farmer in 1995.
His integrity, accountability and transparency have earned him the respect and admiration of the majority youth in the region, endorsing him for a position on the council of state. His leadership skills and strategic planning expertise make him an ideal candidate for this role, where he can continue to transform agriculture and empower communities
