A district court has granted bail to self-styled doomsday prophet Ebo Noah in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties, one of whom must be justified with verifiable security.

Under the bail conditions, one of the sureties is required to provide tangible collateral in the form of a landed property or a vehicle to guarantee the accused’s appearance in court.

The case has been adjourned to March 18, 2026, for further hearing.

The ruling was welcomed by the legal team of the accused. Speaking to journalists after the court session, counsel for Ebo Noah, Emmanuel Sarfo, described the decision as fair and consistent with the law.

“Thankfully, the court has exercised its discretion because discretion must always be fair, reasonable and just. The court has admitted our client to bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with a landed property or a vehicle as security, and that is all,” he said.

The court stressed that strict compliance with the bail conditions is mandatory and warned that failure to meet the requirements could result in the revocation of the bail.

Ebo Noah, whose real name is Evans Eshun, was arrested on December 31, 2025, by the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team following public alarm over his widely publicised prophecy that a catastrophic flood would destroy the world on December 25, 2025.

In the months leading up to the predicted date, the self-proclaimed prophet constructed what he described as an “ark” at his premises, claiming it would be used to save humanity from the impending disaster.

When the prophecy failed to materialise, he reportedly revised his claim, saying divine intervention and his prayers had succeeded in postponing the destruction.

The case attracted widespread public attention, with many Ghanaians raising concerns about the impact of such alarming prophecies on public order and security.

Prosecutors are expected to continue presenting their case when the matter returns to court on March 18, 2026.
