The discovery of a lifeless body of a man believed to be in his 40s, at a nearby bush at Fiapre-Ataadaemu in the Sunyani Municipality, has thrown the town into a state of fear. During a visit, some residents who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) appealed to the police to intensify night patrols in the town.

The GNA gathered from the residents that some boys discovered the nearly decomposed body when they went to the bush to cut grass for their animals on Sunday, May 18, 2025. A resident, only known as Mr Amoako said the boys found the body lying in the bush, near the Old GN Bank area in the Fiapre Zongo enclave, saying the incident had since caused fear and panic in the area.

He said the police had since retrieved the body as “some of us even fear to allow our children to go to school”, he stated.

Another resident, Madam Grace Pokuaa, also appealed to the police to intensify night patrols in the town.
