    Fire razes more than 700 stores/shops down at Techiman Central Market

    Fire has razed to the ground more than 700 shops and stores at the Techiman Central Market in the Bono East Region.

    The Ghana News Agency (GNA) gathered that the inferno, which occurred around 2000hours on Sunday January 12, 2025, caused extensive damages to properties and personal belongings running into millions of Ghana Cedis.

    During a visit to the central market in the early hours of Monday, some of the victims were sighted picking some half-burnt items from the debris.
    The Alata market, a portion of the central market, was the worst affected, with most of the market women and shop owners and other victims sighted in uncontrollable tears.
