A total of 24 companies and two distinguished personalities were recognised at the 10th Ghana Manufacturing Awards held on May 30 at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. The event, organised by Xodus Communications Limited and sponsored by PayAngel and JP Fuel Delivery, was held under the theme “The Role of Manufacturing in Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy Agenda.”
Blowchem Industries Limited received the Brand of the Decade award, while Rocksters B.P. Ltd and Twellium Industrial Company Limited were named Indigenous Company of the Decade and Most Innovative Company of the Decade respectively. Other top honours included Bel Aqua’s induction into the Hall of Fame and recognition for Shea Butter Museum as Shea Butter Manufacturing Company of the Year.
Two individuals were also celebrated: Pawan Aidasani of Jay Kay Industries and Investments Ltd was named CEO of the Decade, and Mukesh V. Thakwani of B5 Plus Ltd was awarded Entrepreneur of the Decade, with B5 Plus Ltd also earning Manufacturing Company of the Decade.
Several companies secured multiple awards across various categories, including Qualiplast Limited, Blowchem Industries/Bel Beverages, Twellium Industrial Company Limited, Olam Agri, Alpha TND Ltd, and others. Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, De United Foods Industries Limited, and Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Co., Ltd were also among the major winners.
Speaking at the event, the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority, Prof. George Agyei, urged manufacturers to prioritise standards compliance as a key driver for international competitiveness. The founder of Xodus Communications, Richard Abbey Jnr., also emphasised innovation and corporate social responsibility in manufacturing, while announcing that next year’s Forty Under 40 awards will be hosted in the United States.
