The Ghana Navy Supply Base (GNSB) in Takoradi has inducted Commander Sabina Dennison into office as its new Commanding Officer (CO).

She took over from Commander Prosper Cudjoe Korto, who has been moved to serve as the Command Supply Officer at the Western Naval Command.

Commander Korto, in his handing over address said he was privileged to have served the unit and appreciated the Naval High Command for the opportunity given him during his tenure.

He acknowledged the selfless dedication and commitment of personnel of the unit and hoped they extended the same to the new CO.

He said: “I humbly assumed office bearing in mind that, many had come before me and captained the ship and did not run it aground and continued in their footsteps.”

He, thus, urged the new CO to embrace every challenge that would come her way saying, with teamwork, dedication, and discipline she would succeed.

Commander Korto also expressed appreciation to some corporate institutions who played critical roles in supporting the unit to complete some key infrastructural projects for the Base.

Rear Admiral Samuel Agyenim-Boateng, Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics, at the General Headquarters, commended the outgoing commander for his remarkable leadership, adding that, the success of any military unit depended on strong leadership and commitment.

He expressed satisfaction at the successes chalked by Commander Korto in terms of infrastructural development reflecting his commitment to improving the operational efficiency of GNSB.

Rear Admiral Agyenim-Boateng entreated the new Commanding Officer to take up responsibilities and challenges to the best of her ability as a leader to attain much greater success.
