International Men’s Day: Julius Debrah Says His Driver Is One of His Best Advisers — A Call for Men to Respect Every Background

As the world commemorates International Men’s Day, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has shared an inspiring reflection on humility, leadership, and the hidden potential within people society often overlooks.

Speaking on the significance of the day, Mr. Debrah revealed that one of the most reliable and insightful advisers in his professional life is his own driver. He explained that over the years, the driver has offered honest opinions, practical solutions, and a grounded perspective that many people in high-ranking positions often miss.

He noted that if the driver had been given the same level of support, opportunities, and exposure that others received, “he could easily have been the one we would all be working under today.”

This revelation, he said, should remind society that greatness does not only come from titles, certificates, or privileged backgrounds. Instead, it often lies in individuals whose talents have simply not been nurtured by circumstances.

Mr. Debrah used the platform of International Men’s Day to urge men to:

    • Value one another, regardless of occupation or social status

    • Create opportunities for those who may not have had the privilege of formal education

    • Listen more, recognizing that wisdom is not limited to boardrooms or high offices

    • Respect all forms of honest work, from the executive office to the driver’s seat

He emphasized that mutual respect among men promotes healthier families, stronger communities, and a more inclusive society.

As the world reflects on the diverse roles men play, Julius Debrah’s message stands out as a reminder that true leadership is measured by humility and the ability to recognize potential in others, no matter where they come from.
