    MTN FA Cup:  Hearts, Kotoko progress to round of 32 after wins By Simon Asare

    The round of 64 of the 2024-25 MTN FA Cup took centre stage this weekend, with 32 clubs moving on to the next round. Asante Kotoko, the eight-time FA Cup winners, defeated Future Stars 2-0 on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

    Albert Amoah scored twice in the second half to secure a significant victory for the Porcupine Warriors, who have now won consecutive games in all competitions. Accra Hearts of Oak advanced to the next round of the competition, defeating Immigration FC 4-0 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

    Mawuli Wayo scored twice, and Martin Karikari and Stephen Appiah added goals to help the Phobians defeat Immigration FC.  Accra Lions of the Premier League defeated Agbozume Weavers of Division One 6-0.

    Lucky Nwafor, a Nigerian striker, scored four goals, while Baba Apiiga and Edmund Amakye each scored once to help Accra Lions win convincingly. Following a 1-1 draw in regulation time, former FA Cup winners Bechem United overcame Rainmaster 6-5 on penalties.

    Dormaa Unity FC overcame Aduana FC 2-1 in one of the tournament’s biggest upsets, moving on to the next round.

    Agbozume Weavers 0-6 Accra Lions.

    Legon Cities 0-1 Home Stars

    FC Samartex 0-2 Bibiani Gold Stars

    Nzema Kotoko 1-2 Medeama SC

    Danbort 2-1 Vision FC
