The 2026 SME Clinic by MTN Ghana took centre stage at Ashanti Fest, equipping young entrepreneurs with the skills, funding, and mentorship needed to turn their business ideas into viable ventures.

The initiative is part of MTN’s broader strategy to address youth unemployment while supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises across the country.

A key highlight of the event was a competitive business pitch session, where participants presented innovative solutions built around MTN’s digital ecosystem. The ideas spanned sectors such as agriculture technology and fintech, with teams making strong cases for investment support.

In addition to pitching, participants received practical training in areas like financial management, branding, and product packaging to help them build competitive and sustainable businesses.

MTN also emphasized its focus on long-term impact by offering mentorship and continuous capacity-building to ensure the success of these enterprises. According to Eric Antwi, Sales Manager for MTN Northern Business, the initiative aims to nurture entrepreneurial ideas into reality.

The company further highlighted its nationwide support for SMEs, noting that over 100,000 businesses have benefited from its SME Plus programme, with 20,000 women supported through the Adwumapa bundle, and more than 30,000 businesses benefiting from the Yellow Biz package.

The top prize at the event went to Nolap Technologies, a team of students from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, who plan to use their seed funding to invest in infrastructure, logistics, and campus expansion.

Through initiatives like the SME Clinic, MTN Ghana continues to position itself as a key driver of entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation in Ghana’s SME sector
