Ghanaian rap heavyweight Sarkodie has touched down in Lagos, Nigeria, sparking massive excitement among Afrobeats and hip-hop fans across West Africa.
The rapper linked up with P-Square star Rudeboy for a studio session, building on the success of their 2019 collaborative hit “Lucky.” The duo shared several behind-the-scenes moments that have already gone viral, including cruising through Lagos streets, enjoying a hearty plate of jollof rice together, and most importantly, Sarkodie laying down vocals in Rudeboy’s home studio.
In a teaser clip, the artists confirmed the new track is titled “Blessed & Alive” and is scheduled for release in July 2026.
This latest collaboration is being celebrated as more than just another song, it symbolizes the strong unity and creative chemistry between Ghanaian and Nigerian artists. Both Sarkodie and Rudeboy have consistently shown love for each other’s craft, and their fans are already anticipating fire bars from Sarkodie over a classic Rudeboymelody.
The timing couldn’t be better, coming ahead of Sarkodie’s highly anticipated O2 Arena show in London next year. A new joint single with one of Africa’s biggest Afrobeats voices is expected to further boost his momentum.
Social media has been buzzing since the first clips dropped. Many are calling it a “dream collab reloaded,” while others are already predicting that “Blessed & Alive” will dominate charts across Ghana, Nigeria, and the diaspora.
Rudeboy and Sarkodie have both hinted at more joint projects in the future, raising hopes for an extended EP or even a full joint project down the line.
