SIC Insurance PLC has approved a GH¢20 million dividend for shareholders for the 2025 financial year, following a strong performance across key financial indicators.

The dividend, approved at the company’s 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Accra, amounts to GH¢0.1022 per share.

The AGM was held in a hybrid format, allowing shareholders to participate both physically and virtually through the SIC Insurance AGM Platform. It was chaired by Board Chairman Bernard Ahiafor.

The dividend approval follows significant improvements in the company’s financial performance during the 2025 financial year.

SIC Insurance’s insurance revenue increased to GH¢598.19 million, up from GH¢559.48 million in 2024. The company attributed the growth to sustained customer confidence, diversification of its product offerings and the growing importance of insurance in strengthening financial resilience for individuals and businesses.

Profit before tax rose by approximately 41.5 per cent to GH¢117.74 million, compared with GH¢83.21 million in the previous year.

After accounting for income tax and the Growth and Sustainability Levy, the Group recorded a profit after tax of GH¢84.05 million, representing an increase of approximately 57.4 per cent from GH¢53.41 million in 2024.

The company also strengthened its capital position, with total shareholders’ funds rising to GH¢786.28 million as of December 31, 2025, from GH¢670.38 million a year earlier.

This represents growth of approximately 11.3 per cent and reflects the company’s efforts to build a stronger and more sustainable financial base.

The improved performance also translated into higher shareholder returns, with basic earnings per share increasing to GH¢0.4296, from GH¢0.2730 in 2024.

The Group’s return on shareholders’ funds also improved from 7.97 per cent to 10.69 per cent.

    SIC targets industry leadership

Addressing shareholders, Board Chairman Bernard Ahiafor reaffirmed the Board and Management’s commitment to restoring SIC Insurance to a leading position in Ghana’s insurance industry.

“Our ambition remains clear and undiminished: to re-establish SIC Insurance PLC as the undisputed leader in the Ghanaian insurance industry. Not only by financial measures, but by the standard of the positive, lasting impact we make on the lives of our policyholders, the communities we serve and the nation we are proud to call home,” he said.

The positive performance has continued into 2026, with SIC Insurance recording GH¢323.21 million in insurance revenue and GH¢31.35 million in net profit during the first half of the year.

Under the approved dividend arrangements, the Ex-Dividend Date is September 10, 2026, while the Qualifying Date is September 14, 2026.

Dividend payments are scheduled for October 12, 2026, to shareholders who qualify.

Managing Director James Agyenim-Boateng expressed confidence in the company’s future, saying the best of SIC Insurance was yet to come.

“The best of SIC Insurance PLC is unquestionably yet to come, and I look forward with great excitement and determination to the journey ahead.”

The Board and Management thanked shareholders for their continued confidence and acknowledged the contributions of customers, intermediaries, regulators, management and staff to the company’s performance.

SIC Insurance said it remains focused on its transformation agenda, with priorities including improving operational efficiency, enhancing customer experience, expanding and diversifying its product portfolio, embracing innovation and delivering sustainable value to shareholders and other stakeholders.

The company said it remains guided by its commitment to customers and its longstanding principle: “Our Promises Are Sacred.”
