The United States Embassy in Accra will temporarily suspend most routine consular services from July 20 to July 31, 2026, to allow for scheduled facility maintenance.
According to a notice from the Embassy, normal consular operations are expected to resume on August 3, 2026.
During the maintenance period, walk-in services for notarial services and Consular Reports of Death Abroad (CRODA) will not be available.
The Embassy, however, indicated that applicants who have already received email notifications confirming that their pending passports or Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) documents are ready for collection may still visit the Embassy to pick them up.
Collections will be available on Thursdays between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. during the maintenance period.
The Embassy further announced that adult passport renewal applications submitted through its drop box will continue to be processed despite the temporary suspension of other routine services.
Applicants seeking passport renewal services have been advised to follow the relevant instructions provided on the Embassy’s official website before submitting their applications.
