    Akufo-Addo appoints Osei Assibey as NSS Exe. Director

    Osei Assibey Antwi who has just been replaced as the Kumasi Mayor has been appointed by President AKufo-Addo as executive Director of the National Service Scheme.

    A letter confirming the appointment and sighted by the media, signed by Chief of Staff Frema Akosua Opare and dated 17th September 2021 read “Pursuant to Section 15 (1) of the Ghana National Service Scheme Act, 1990 (Act 426).”

    “I am pleased to inform you that the president has appointed you to act as the Executive Director of thee Ghana National Service Scheme (the “Scheme”). pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing board of the Scheme, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.”

    It went on”I take the opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment. Kindly indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this appointment, within 14 days of receipt of this letter. Please accept the President’s best wishes.”
