There he spearheaded SIMS’ investment strategy, asset allocation, risk management and operations.

Prior to that, Mr Boamah served as Head, Investments and Client Relations from 2014, after his initial role as Portfolio Manager when he joined the company in 2007.

Prior to joining SIMS, he was a Portfolio Manager at Ecobank Investment Management Limited following his role with Databank Brokerage Limited as the lead Fixed Income Analyst and Stockbroker.

Kwabena Boamah holds an MBA from the Paris Graduate School of Management, a Diploma in Financial Management from ACCA and a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement from the CFA Institute.

He is currently a doctoral student in Finance at SMC University, Switzerland.

Speaking on his appointment, Kwabena Boamah expressed excitement about his new role and committed to the continuous delivery of excellent investment solutions and services to SIMS clients.

“I am humbled and excited about this opportunity and I will continue to work with the SIMS team to maintain our position as the go-to investment management company in Ghana. As I take on this role, I am committed to fulfilling the company’s agenda to provide first class services to all our clients. I look forward to working collaboratively with all our stakeholders to deliver results that will meet the Standard Bank Group’s standards,” he said.

Kwabena brings decades of experience in investment management to his new role.

He is passionate about responsible investing and helping people achieve their investment objectives.

He is also a respected industry expert, serving on the Ghana Securities Industry Association Fund Management Sub-committee and supporting the National Pensions Regulatory Authority in drawing up investment guidelines.
