Sika Kroabea Company Limited has emerged victors of this year’s Standard Chartered (SC) Cup after defeating Ghana Link Network Services Limited 2-0 on penalty shootouts.

The five-aside tournament, which took place at the Ghana International School (GIS) Football Park over the weekend formed part of the bank’s mission to foster collaboration, competition and camaraderie amongst staff and clients. The winners started the game on a higher tempo hoping to break the deadlock with their attacking play.

Ghana Link, who kept their eyes on the coveted trophy cemented their lines with some solid clearances to keep the game barren in the first half.

Sika Kroabea had some golden opportunities in the second half but failed to find the back of the net on countless occasions.

The rivalry intensified minutes after minutes as the game needed to be settled on penalties after a 0-0 result.  Sika Kroabea’s goalkeeper proved to be the hero of the day, pulling off three spectacular saves to secure a 2-0 victory for his side.

The seven-member team would get the chance to watch a Liverpool home game of their choice, along with a tour of the world-famous Anfield stadium.

The lifetime experience is predicated on Standard Chartered’s ongoing partnership with Liverpool FC, aimed to inspire excellence both on and off the field.

Madam Asiedua Addae, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand, and Marketing, Standard Chartered Bank Ghana speaking in an interview with the GNA Sports congratulated the winners.

“Congratulations to Sika Kroabea for an outstanding achievement and to all participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. SC Cup and the reward it delivers, is a reflection of our commitment to delighting our clients with unmatched experiences”

She said the SC Cup had come to stay and would be one of the ways in building healthy relationships with clients of Standard Chartered.

Standard Chartered, a leading banking and financial services company had over the years engaged clients through sports, and other related activities.
