Some well-wishers of the President John Dramani Mahama, have expressed hope of new opportunities and growth in the next for years. They are of the view that the President despite the current economic turbulence in the country, could overwhelm Ghanaians with prudent policies and stringent implementation mechanisms that would inure to economic emancipation.

Mama Felicia, a kokoseller told the Ghana News Agency that; “I am even disturbed to sell koko between four and five cedis …but we have no option due to the price hikes from our sources.”  She added the issue was a matter of concern and problematic for the average Ghanaian with four to five children and called on the new government to fix the country as a matter of urgency. Mr. Patrick Wajah, a civil Servant said parents had to spend a daily amount between 150 and 300 on maintaining their homes and “ask yourself how much does he or she earns as government worker.”

He said corruption and other crave for selfish interest could be averted when the  government invest on the well-being of the people…”after all, if we are well paid and everyone Ghanaian albeit a worker, entrepreneurs or micro trader can have the congenial atmosphere to succeed, who will think about stealing and other inhumane behaviours “.

Madam Zeinab Abu, a returnee from Libya urged the President to as a matter of comfort reduce water and light bills adding, “in Libya both foreigners and indigenes enjoy free water and light” and we have oil and gas plus water sources and yet high electricity and water prices. Mr. Elikem Emekor Honu Siabi-Mensah, a student urged the government to continue the Free SHS policy, fulfil the promise of paying fees of university first year students and ensure that prices were controlled in the Ghanaian society.

Mr. Justice Kwofie, a youth leader said President John Dramani Mahama must change the face of Ghanaian politics by building on all projects unfinished by the previous government.  “Our politicians must rethink on public infrastructure investment and abandonment…. how can the public purse be wasted in such an unruly manner all in the name of political colours and belongings.”
