Tutors at the Dodi-Papase Senior High Technical School in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region, are threatening to stay away from school if stray animals are not stopped from invading the school.

In a letter written and signed by the Chairman of the School’s Governing Board, Mr. Emmanuel Hanson Torde, to the District Environmental Officer, it said the animals had been destroying the institution’s demonstration farms, chasing students and tutors out of the dining halls, dormitories, classrooms, and staff common rooms.

The Governing Board described the situation as alarming and appealed to the District Environmental Officer to take immediate action to stop the owners of cattle and other animals from taking their animals to graze on the school’s campus.

He said an earlier complaint letter sent on October 16, 2024, to the Environmental Office went unheeded, and urged the Office to act on time to ensure the safety and well-being of the school community.

The Dodi-Papase Senior High Technical School was established in 1983, with a current student population around 1,000.
