Wisdom Seade, the Keta Municipal Chief Executive nominee, has pledged to work with constituents to speed up the development of the Keta Municipality for the benefit of all.

He said his priorities would include unity, togetherness, and innovative strategies to drive progress in the Assembly. Mr. Seade, who is also the Assembly Member of Anyako Electoral Area and Keta National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency Chairman, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, appealed to other assembly members to confirm his nomination.

“My nomination by President John Dramani Mahama is a victory for the Keta assembly, this marks the first time an assembly member has been elevated to the MCE position and we need to grab this opportunity, celebrate, and work together towards success,” he said.

Mr. Seade explained that his elevation to the MCE position gave the assembly members the power to drive development in the Keta municipality with support, cohesion, and unity from the public to achieve better goals.

He promised to outline key emergency priority plans within the first 100 days of his tenure, if confirmed and urged businesses, philanthropists, corporate organisations, individuals and groups to partner with the Assembly to drive the development agenda and progress in the area.

“Some of my plans are to engage with chiefs, shareholders, corporate organizations, philanthropists, individuals, and groups to gather support, ideas, and guidance to structure the constituency to be one of the best in the region and in the country.”

He expressed gratitude to the other three aspirants who congratulated him and pledged their support and hoped that his colleague assembly members would give him the maximum vote to confirm his nomination.

He said his vision, if confirmed as the next MCE, is to bring development to areas such as health, job creation, infrastructure, sports, and education among others to uplift the standard of living for constituents.

Mr. Seade expressed satisfaction with his relationship with the current Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, who he believes understands the challenges of assemblies and their possible solutions, given his experience as a former DCE of Akatsi North.

The Volta Regional Coordinating Council has announced the confirmation dates of nominees in the region and it would held at Keta on Thursday, April 10, between 1400 and 1600 hours.
