In what promises to be a landmark moment for Ghana’s live music scene, Sarkodie, the country’s most decorated rapper, has officially announced that his signature annual concert, Rapperholic, will be heading to Kumasi for the very first time. Set to take place on September 27th, 2025, the event will be hosted at the legendary Baba Yara Sports Stadium, marking a significant expansion of the Rapperholic brand beyond the capital city.

The news was first shared by Sarkodie himself via social media, where he wrote:

“It’s official!!!! My people in Oseikrom, we are bringing y’all a treat… We are hosting Rapperholic in Kumasi this September 27th!!! Can’t wait to see you guys.”

The announcement was accompanied by the unveiling of the official event flyer, instantly generating buzz among fans—especially in the Ashanti Region, affectionately known as “Oseikrom”—who have long yearned for a major live show from the hip-hop icon on their turf.

While this move is historic, Sarkodie’s team was quick to emphasize that the Kumasi edition of Rapperholic is not a replacement for the traditional December concert in Accra. In an interview on Peace FM, a member of his management team clarified:

“Rapperholic in Kumasi is a special edition and does not affect the regular Rapperholic concert in Accra. December 25th at the Grand Arena still holds—Accra gets its show, as always.”

This means fans in both cities (and across Ghana) can look forward to two full-scale Rapperholic experiences this year—each with its own unique flavor, but the same high standards of performance and production that the brand is known for.
