Consolidated Bank Ghana organised a free health screening exercise over the weekend for residents of North Legon as part of its community outreach initiatives.
The programme was held on Sunday, March 15, at the premises of Charismatic Evangelistic Ministries (CEM) and forms part of a broader series of health outreach activities the bank has been implementing across communities in the capital where it operates.
The initiative falls under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, which focuses on partnering with stakeholders to deliver essential healthcare services and promote health awareness within local communities.
Hundreds of residents and members of the church participated in the exercise, taking advantage of the opportunity to undergo a variety of medical screenings.
Speaking to Joy Business on the sidelines of the event, the Managing Director of the bank, Naomi Wolali Kwetey, highlighted the institution’s commitment to improving community wellbeing through such interventions.
Medical personnel who conducted the screenings reported that many of the cases identified were related to diabetes. Participants also received free medical consultations from doctors at the venue. Some beneficiaries were given medication, while those diagnosed with more serious conditions were advised to seek additional medical care.
