Promasidor Ghana has honoured top-performing schools and students in the maiden edition of the “Sachet to Treasure Schools Challenge,” an environmental initiative led by its beverage brand Twisco to promote recycling and sustainability in schools across the Greater Accra Region.
Lekma 2 Primary School emerged as the overall winner with 47,760 points after collecting the highest number of used Twisco sachets. Lekma 5 Junior High School placed first runner-up with 33,931 points, while Omanjor M/A 3 School secured second runner-up with 28,404 points.
The competition, organised in partnership with the Ghana Education Service, initially involved 82 basic schools, with the top 50 progressing to the second phase.
According to Promasidor Ghana’s Head of QSSHE, Bernadette Klu, the initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and supports key Sustainable Development Goals, including good health, clean water and sanitation, sustainable communities, and responsible consumption.
She explained that the programme aims to instil in students the importance of waste segregation, recycling, and environmental responsibility.
Outstanding individual performers were also recognised, with David Eyram Dabi, Priscilla Addo, and Samuel Mensah commended for their exceptional contributions.
On behalf of participating schools, Headmistress Vida Naa Dedei Aboagye expressed gratitude to Promasidor and Twisco for the initiative, which rewarded top schools and students with cash prizes, factory tours, and product packages while promoting environmental awareness among young learners.
