Tema Development Corporation has issued public notices directing individuals and businesses with containers, equipment, and other items at its maintenance yard in Tema to remove them within 30 days or risk losing them through public auction.
In a notice dated May 5, 2026, the company stated that all affected parties with items at its yard in Tema Community 1 must take steps to retrieve their property within the stipulated period. Failure to comply will result in the items being auctioned without further notice.
The company also called on lessees, property owners, and occupiers within the Tema Acquisition Area to settle outstanding ground rent, noting that many clients have yet to meet their obligations despite repeated reminders.
Defaulters have similarly been given 30 days to clear their arrears, with TDC warning that enforcement actions will be taken to recover unpaid debts if necessary.
In addition, TDC outlined the proper procedures for land acquisition within its jurisdiction, cautioning the public against engaging middlemen or taking unlawful possession of land.
According to the company, prospective landowners must follow due process, including submitting an application, undergoing verification, receiving an official offer, making required payments, and obtaining key documents such as a Right of Entry letter and Site Plan.
It emphasised that anyone who occupies land without completing these steps does so at their own risk.
